Bar Stewards (and Bad Lads) in Cannes 2007

Here we are in sunny Cannes, mingling with the rich and famous and sometimes the downright sleazy.

Diary of a Bad Lad trailer

Over the last few weeks, Paul Shields over at Sumners has been cutting together a trailer for our feature film Diary of a Bad Lad. And this morning, it's been posted on the Bad Lad website. You can now view it here.

Panasonic HVX200, just arrived

Just in! The Panasonic HVX200 DVCProHD camera is now ours (PAL). It's one of the first in the UK. We'll try to post up some footage from the camera as soon as we get the Firestore to record to. Unfortunately the Firestore FS100 release has been delayed, and you need this to record 1080p high-definition footage. Hopefully the Firestore will be with us next week.

Shooting People Interview Michael Booth

The following is an interview by Ben Blaine, on behalf of www.shootingpeople.org - the UK's foremost newsletter of independent filmmaking. This was conducted in the week prior to the London preview screening of Diary of a Bad Lad, and was the third in a series entitled Heroes of Low Budget Film-making... Michael Booth.

Preview screening in London - 4th Sept

Diary of a Bad Lad will be showing at a special Shooting People (www.shootingpeople.org) event at the Phoenix cinema, London. After the screening will be a panel discussion with the director Michael Booth and producer Jonathan Williams. Ticket info added - read on for more details!

High Definition is going to be around for a very long time. It’s not the future of the film industry, it’s the future of consumer electronics. How long will it be before HD is the only format available on the high street with HD camcorders being sold in Argos? Filmmaking will no longer require hiring cameras costing as much money as a Ferrari...
