Last weekend we went up to Darwen Tower to film the last shots of a montage we've been working on for our in-production feature film Bar Stewards. It was absolutely freezing, raining and we were subjected to gale force winds. Between shots, we set the camera rolling to document the shoot.

How cold was that!!!! I've been up there before and it's ridiculously windy. The bit where he was running towards camera looked a bit like Lancelot the brave approaching Castle Anthrax in the Holy Grail.

It's good to see that whatever the weather, Finchy can still hoar it up with the best of them like a slightly more feminine Anthea Turner on that wedding picture with the choccie bar.

I jest of course...nice work fellas. Finchy, outstanding. I'm only sorry that I missed it. Hee hee.

:) Top blog, Mike. Thanks for posting. And well done, guys, on braving those horrible conditions for the sake of the film. "Queen Victoria's erection"...*giggles*...Ah, life's simple pleasures, eh?!

PS: Don't worry, Chris...It's almost Easter...

Brilliant. :)

I remember going through Darwen on the train with Paul (Curtinparloe) to and back from the nightclub shoot last year when the weather was truly dreadful, so I have an extra idea of just how difficult the filming conditions were on that hill. I think I may have even seen that tower from the train window.

Kudos to Chris though. While everyone else were in their coats and jumpers, Chris faced it in just vest and shorts.

And aged about 10 years! :p

Although I also liked Wiggy climbing up the hill like an emerging Sea Devil from Doctor Who and Chris taking him out like an uncloaked Jon Pertwee.

Several words occurred to me after watching that – determination, dedication, commitment, perseverance!....

...Baltic..brass monkeys.. rather you than me… ooh and Kit Kat! Must go buy one!

Loved Cops description of the wind (with Wiggy’s assistance. Lol)

Thanks to all those who suffered for their art that day, for taking time to film a blog for us in such yucky conditions and thanks for all the stills too!
