I am going to start a thread about one of the great film composers of all time.

The above music was the B side of the 'Persuaders' theme. It was used in a Sunsilk commercial but you can hear traces of the Bond themes (the tambourines almost military sounding) so it has all the elements of great film music.

Studying the music of John Barry and how it works with the image is an object lesson in film-making itself;

How much information in this opening about the central character Harry Palmer - all in the space of the credits and how atmospherically the music - the cimbalon particularly - (with the trumpet as a counterpoint) conveys the deadly spy cold war themes;
