Chris Finch in Hollyoaks: In The City

Just seen Chris in HITC (with that 'ohh err' warning that the show contained 'sexual violence'! )...and I've got mixed feelings about his appearance, to be honest!

Chris was great in it from what I could see, but then there wasn't a lot of him to see - either very literally or otherwise!!

I got taken a bit by surprise when he first appeared, as I thought we'd first see him parading around in his not-very-much-at-all at that underwear party. It was a lovely surprise, though! So we got to see him both with and without, as it were!

It was wonderful seeing him back on our TV screens after he has been - ad voice-overs apart - away from them for far too long. I was disappointed that we saw so little of him (no, not in 'that' sense! ), though, as he deserves more. He seemed incredibly 'background', even for a character getting a minimal amount of screen time. There wasn't even one close-up of his 'face', lol! But it'll do for starters!

What really made me smile, though, was seeing 'Chris Finch' in the credits. So, welcome back to TV land, babe; you've been missed.

What are everybody else's thoughts on this? And, Chris, what were your feelings as you were watching yourself in it? I'll assume you did, lol!

And Ashleigh and Roxie, please be gentle with him!

It was great to see that fabulous young actor Chris Finch on the TV tonight is a small role in Daran Little's Hollyoaks: In the City. Great, too, to see him play such an evil character who attempted if I got it right to date rape poor Lisa, who looks like she could be a gonna by next week.

Steve, as played by Chris, fitted into the romp that is Hollyoaks:ITC. Pure decadence, and just piled on by Daran Little. None of the male actors seem to have any shirts. They are forever showing off their toned bods. And the female actresses are pretty skimpily attired.

Anyway, a role that should not see Chris in any way ashamed. Pity it was so er. . . brief.

It was good to see Chris back on our screens and although the appearance was a little shorter than I would have liked it was still interesting to see him in a different role.

Well, Steve wasn't a huge role, but we knew that already and it was great to see Chris back on the box and his name in the credits, we've waited a long time to see him back where he belongs on screen. HITC is proving fairly popular, so it's something else to add to the list for him. Obviously, (like others), I look forward to the day when he gets a television role where he can show off his acting talent properly, but in the meantime, I'm just grateful that he's back on screen and we have a few other things with him in to look forward to.

Ps, I think we need some more smilies. There's over-use of the same smilies I think so we need... A smiley Sunday! No only joking about that one. Sunday's a day of rest even for me, unless we're filming.

Yeah, that's sort of what I meant when I said that he seemed very 'background' even for a minor character. Just one proper, vaguely lingering, close-up would of done it, lol!

I also noticed that what we saw of Chris from last week's 'Next Time' trailer wasn't even in tonight's episode!

Anyway, it's a nice addition onto his CV and hopefully his role in this, though small, will draw him to the positive attention of more casting directors, etc. And thank you to tonight's writer of HITC, Katie Douglas, who allowed Chris to make more of the time he did get on screen by giving him a good few lines to say!

Btw, Cop, it's also repeated tonight at 1.30 am...then there's an E4+1 showing....then it's repeated on Sunday too!

I remember just after he'd shot the scene we were shooting and Chris was telling us what an incredibly surreal experience it was... "It's night time, we're all in our pants, I'm kissing Gemma Atkinson whilst another actor is groping her... And a dwarf is filming us."

Though I think one of the scenes we shot recently for Bar Stewards probably put him back in that 'what the hell am I doing here' zone again.
