Hi Mike. Yes, it should surface sometime this year (cue groans of "we've heard that before"). The truth is that we mastered the film a while back, then two foreign territories asked for cuts before they'd buy the film. Right after that happened there was an issue with the digital cinema screens and the Film Council, which meant our distributor was reluctant to allow the film to be released. They are very strict about Bad Lad being released in a short run in cinemas, and if they'd have released it earlier it would have jeopardised that so I'm told.
It's been very frustrating for us but it's something we've had to deal with and something that now it's signed to someone else, we don't have a great deal of control over.
We've just been given the okay to remaster the film for the foreign markets, so that should happen within the next fortnight. And we're assured by the distributor that Bad Lad will see the light of day before the end of the year. That should mean a week run at Blackburn's Vue cinema, as well as many other cinemas throughout the country.
I can't really say any more about it, but that's pretty much the state of things.
